Bella Rune et.al, EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Espoo, Finland

From press release:

Textile holds emotions and stories. The works of the exhibition’s 12 artists approach textile through creative exploration, technical mastery and a bold new approach to materials. They create a diverse outlook on the possibilities of textile in the interface between contemporary art and design, with the exhibition placing a new frame on textile’s ancient role as a bearer of stories, information and culture.

The exhibition is opened by Maarit Salolainen, Professor for Textile Design, Aalto University.

ESTRAGON

Whilst structural conveniences begin to collapse and the remnants of enlightenment ideas are nullified, Estragon extends a welcome to estrangement from the peripheries of an imagined, contingent space.

In a speculative orchestration, we will design a governing framework for community socialisation, object-to-object meaning disclosure and carnal interactions, displaced from cultural and mythical origins.

Bella Rune et al., Tensta konsthall, Stockholm, Sweden

From press release:

In the project Art and shops, art will find its way into store shelves, store windows, secret pathways, inside and outside Tensta centrums main building. In that way art will be presented in the most everyday situations: when one buy groceries, shopping for lunch or cutting one’s hair; therefore, providing a way to other forms of contact and exchange.

Soon enough: art in action is an exhibition about futures. It is inspired by the urgencies of our time, and a conviction that artistic practice can communicate complex problems and coordinate resistance. Some art works in the exhibition address the future directly, others point to phenomena, topics, skills or attitudes which will be more important in days to come. Self-organisation, craft and manual skills, play a certain role in the exhibition. So do collaborative methods, research-based practices, the rural, and cosmos.
