Berättelser från skymningslandet
Peter Köhler, Crepuscular Tales, Galleri Magnus Karlsson
We are pleased to present Peter Köhler’s fifth solo exhibition in the gallery. Crepuscular Tales is a series of 36 drawings which will be presented as an installation in the main room of the gallery. A catalogue with all works from the suite as well as an essay by American critic and curator Terry R. Myers will be availble. Below an excerpt from the essay:
An essay by Terry R. Myers about Peter Köhler’s exhibition Crepsucular Tales
Peter Köhler draws like a dream, and maybe he dreams like his drawings. His works on paper are triumphs of pictorial alchemy, amalgamations of three core elements that anchor their persistent yet never repetitive production. The first is a type of close observation that is somehow both tenacious and casual, taken and selected from—it seems—everything he happens to see.

To an Unknown Descendant, Peter Köhler, Galleri Magnus Karlsson
It’s midday and I ride my bike along Katarinavägen. A man has parked his motorcycle next to some bushes. He sits with his eyes closed, back straight, ceremonially, with his legs crossed. Right next to him a large double-handed sword is stuck in the ground. On another occasion, I pass a small crossroad to Hantverkargatan next to Kungsholmstorg. A large and vigorous hare lies in the middle of the street. It’s alive but the hind legs are hanging limply. A few people stand around looking, someone is talking on a cellphone.
