Press Release
CHART is the new art fair in Copenhagen and the first to focus exclusively on contemporary art. Taking place from August 30th - September 1st 2013, CHART | ART FAIR proposes a new transversal model of collaboration.
CHART is born from a unique vision within the contemporary art market, aiming to strengthen Scandinavia’s role as a player on the international art market. Inspired by a rooted Scandinavian notion of collaboration the fair proposes a new working model, where all participating parties are asked to unite efforts, working towards a common benefit. This ambition is reflected in every aspect of the fair, from the venue, to the VIP programme, and other projects.
CHART is the first art fair to be realized within a “kunsthal” framework, playing with the encounter between the commercial and the institutional. CHART rents the space of Kunsthal Charlottenborg, a historical art institute located in the very heart of Copenhagen.
In this first edition CHART | ART FAIR will focus on the best of contemporary art galleries in the nordic region. CHART will feature particularly selected galleries and showcase an ambitious programme of talks, films, performances and special projects
