From 26 July to 18 October 2020, MDD, Museum of Deinze and the Leie Region (Mudel) and Roger Raveel Museum, join forces to present the 7th edition of the Biennial of Painting.
Mendes Wood DM has been invited to collaborate with Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens for the 7th edition of the Biennial of Painting, by presenting an exhibition in its townhouse gallery in the Sablon. The Biennial’s theme is Binnenskamers, or Inner Spaces, which has been loosely interpreted to include interior spaces and studios, but also a psychological state of introspection and the intimate realm of the imagination. On the suggestion of the artist Maaike Schoorel (b. 1973 in Santpoort, The Netherlands.
It was with great regret that we heard of the loss of Lars Arrhenius (1966–2020) who passed away just a few weeks ago after an operation. He had been battling a stub- born autoimmune disorder for years. Lars leaves behind his wife and two children, who remain in our thoughts.
From the beginning of his artistic career, Lars Arrhenius was committed to exploring new things, in particular new media and digitalisation. Over the last 10 years his focus was on environmental protection, which became his central concern.
ROOT IN THE NORTH
Nothing has changed and yet. The artists behind Root in the North show geographical vision, curiosity and generosity and together with the Art Centre Silkeborg Bad invite equally Nordic alive and kicking colleagues into a joint study whose physical form is made up of an exhibition and a book published in connection with the exhibition.

With his very own quirky look at seemingly mundane situations around Stockholm, Ulf Lundin makes us see the remarkable in the simple. By quietly and methodically considering and waiting, Ulf Lundin has developed the form and expression possibilities of the documentary genre. He captures in both still and video the equally comical and absurd situations that arise between the city’s inhabitants.
We are pleased to announce the ninth summer exhibition at Hellvi Kännungs, Gotland, Sweden. The exhibition Still Life presents a personal selection of paintings, sculptures and photographs around the concept of still life. Pictures and objects of subjects which have been carefully arranged or where everyday life and chance have set the stage. In some works the objects are loaded with content and history, in others reduced to forms and surfaces in a composition.
