On Saturday, 26 January 2019, Galleri Bo Bjerggaard is opening the exhibition Works on Paper , presenting works by 27 different artists and, in turn, 27 different approaches to paper as a material. The exhibition will be shown in the gallery's west rooms.

When Galleri Bo Bjerggaard first opened its doors in 1999, in Pilestrmde, one our first exhibitions was of works on paper by such heavyweights of the period as Baselitz, Fautrier, lmmendorf, Jorn, Kirkeby, Lupertz, Mortensen, Penck, Picabia and Polke.

Nordic Impressions is a major survey of Nordic art spanning nearly 200 years and presenting 53 artists from Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, as well as the self-governing islands of Åland, Faroe, and Greenland. The exhibition celebrates the incredible artistic diversity of Nordic art, from idealized paintings of the distinctive Nordic light and untouched landscape to melancholic portraits in quiet interiors and mesmerizing video works that explore the human condition.

Painters often draw from 
existing visual materials, such as photographs and reproductions of past works of art, to inspire and construct their work. Swedish artist Mamma Andersson (born 1962)—known for her dreamlike, faintly narrative compositions inspired by Nordic painting, folk art, newspaper photographs, and cinema—is no exception.

An exhibition of the works of the three nominated artists will be shown at the Palais Brongniart, Place de la Bourse, Paris.

On the occasion of the gallery’s 25th anniversary, David Zwirner will present a special exhibition celebrating the artists who have shaped the gallery’s program since its founding in 1993.

We are pleased to be a part of Chart Art Fair in Copenhagen for the fifth consecutive year. At this year’s edition of Chart we will show a wide variety of paintings in a group exhibition with selected works by 13 of the gallery artists.

The conversation between Tal R and Karin Mamma Andersson comes easily. They don’t know each other very well, but their approaches to art show a mental connection, although at first glance there seems to be more differences than similarities between the two.

What has happened in Swedish art since 1986? The Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation has supported young artists for 30 years. Now all 79 artists who have received the grant so far are gathered in this exhibition that will give unique insights into Swedish contemporary art history.

This exhibition will showcase the woodcut and its many functions and stylistic possibilities.

With varying degrees of popularity, the age-old woodcut technique has been in use since the sixteenth century, and there seems recently to be a renewed interest in this art form. Is there a connection between today’s digitized visual media and the woodcuts of yore?

It is our second year at Frieze New York and we are the only Swedish gallery represented in the main section of the fair.

New Opening Days

The exhibition will contain many of the best paintings from the museum's own collections, hung together with 14 Scandinavian contemporary artists. Besides works by famous Skagen painters like P. S.

In the exhibition HERE/NOW, Artipelag would like to take a stand for the physical meeting between artwork and the viewer. The title of the exhibition refers to artist Barnett Newman’s praised 1948 essay, The Sublime is Now. In the essay, Newman propagates the idea that the meeting between contemplator and artwork should be like a meeting between two people, wherein the relationship is based on a profound dialogue.

We are pleased to present the group exhibition 2014. A selection of gallery artists including: Mamma Andersson, Lars Arrhenius, Thomas Broomé, Sara-Vide Ericson, Carl Hammoud, Tommy Hilding, Kent Iwemyr, Richard Johansson, Susanne Johansson, Lisa Jonasson, Klara Kristalova, Ulf Lundin, Maria Nordin, Dan Wolgers and others.

Until the late 19th century, painters like Lotto, Holbein and Delacroix restricted themselves to drawing tapestry cartoons or including Oriental carpets in their pictures. Over the course of the 20th century, however, the European avant-garde revolutionized textile art and practice; artists began weaving their own rugs, inspired by works from earlier periods or drawing upon ethnic and geometric motifs.

Galleri Magnus Karlsson is pleased to announce a group exhibition that will be on display throughout the summer. In conjunction with the inauguration of Nationalmuseum’s temporary space with the exhibition Carl Larsson - Friends and Enemies in our building (The Royal Academy of Fine Arts), we will show Time Waits for Us . This exhibition presents new works by all of our gallery artists.

Stephen Friedman Gallery is delighted to announce an exhibition of new paintings by Mamma Andersson. Andersson, born in 1962, paints complex compositions that bring together a variety of sources including Nordic figurative painting, folk art and contemporary iconography. She juxtaposes thick impasto and loosely washed areas to create dreamlike and expressive vistas yet also allows reality to enter her paintings in the form of the commonplace.

Galleri Magnus Karlsson is pleased to present Mamma Andersson’s fifth solo exhibition at the gallery. Mamma Andersson (b. 1962 in Luleå) lives and works in Stockholm. A comprehensive and much appreciated touring solo exhibition produced by Moderna Museet, Stockholm recently finished. The exhibition that consisted of forty paintings from recent years was showed at Moderna Museet last summer and after that at Helsingfors Konsthall in Finland and at Camden Arts Centre in London.
