PicNic är inspirerad av filmen The Man Who Fell to Earth. När Tommy (the alien/David Bowie) kidnappats av regeringen sätts han i en lyxig lägenhet/fängelsecell där det finns en tapet med höstträd i ett av rummen. Då jag såg filmen som barn var jag väldigt tagen av det rummet. Hans mänskliga flickvän besöker honom och de har en vild kväll tillsammans, där kommer picknicken in. När han till slut flyr så är det för att regeringen glömt bort honom och lägenheten har blivit gammal och förfallen. Sen blev det i processen så att målningen mer kom att handla om miljöförstöringen. I vintern som kommer, så finns bara sommaren i bilder och man har tapetserat med träd på väggarna. Picknicken är alltid inomhus för ute kan man inte vara. Tommy kommer från en planet där man förstört sin miljö och lever nästan utan vatten. Det är därför han är på jorden: för att hitta vatten.

PicNic is inspired by the movie The Man Who Fell to Earth. When Tommy (the alien/David Bowie) is kidnapped by the government, he is put in a luxury apartment/prison cell where there is a wallpaper with autumn trees in one of the rooms. When I saw the movie as a child, I was very taken by that room. His human girlfriend visits him and they have a wild night together, where the picnic comes in. When he finally escapes, it is because the government has forgotten him and the apartment has become old and dilapidated. During the process of painting, the subject of this work became more about environmental degradation. In the coming winter, the summer is only present in the pictures and you have wallpapered with trees on the walls. The picnic is always indoors because you can not be outside. Tommy comes from a planet where you have destroyed your environment and live almost without water. That is why he is on earth: to find water.
