Egen barnteckning

--

My dad had an old wooden school cupboard with glass doors standing upstairs in his studio. In it, he kept different transparent plastic bags. In each bag were the remains of a book. These were the fragments from his book collection after a fire in 1984. When he passed away, we threw most of them away because the smell of fire from them made it difficult to flip through them. I found a small bundle of children's drawings I made at the age of five that I saved. One of them is the model for Reminiscence.

I always collect different kinds of pictures and am very inspired by art from both the past and present, but for this exhibition I have chosen a sculpture inspired by a drawing of me myself from a time I can barely remember. Then I was different but somewhere in me, she is still there.
