Vi har glädjen att presentera Johanna Karlssons elfte separatutställning på galleriet.

 Johanna Karlsson konstruerar minutiöst detaljerade landskapsstudier i sina dioraman, med blandteknik såsom koppar- och silvertråd, papper, textil, pigment och gips. Hon tar fragment och utsnitt av naturen till ett kulturellt sammanhang och resultatet blir en laboratorieliknande presentation med en känslomässig laddning - en personlig och poetisk naturvetenskap. Johanna Karlsson skriver i sina naturstudier inte in särskilda symboliska eller tematiska narrativ. De tillhör den större berättelsen om alltings födelse, konstruktion och förstörelse. Tiden som läggs i arbetet blir synonymt med innehållet.

Johanna Karlsson (b.1968) bor och arbetar i Stockholm. Hon är utbildad på Kungl. Konsthögskolan i Stockholm (1991-1997).

We are pleased to announce Johanna Karlsson’s eleventh solo exhibition at the gallery. 

 Johanna Karlsson constructs meticulously detailed portrayals of landscapes in her dioramas, using a mixed media technique including copper and silver wire, paper, textile, pigment and plaster. She takes fragments of nature into a cultural context, and the result is a laboratory-like presentation with an emotional load – a personal and poetic natural science. Johanna Karlsson does not add any special symbolic or thematic narratives to her nature studies. They belong to the larger story of all thing’s birth, construction and destruction. The time spent making the works becomes synonymous with its content. 

Johanna Karlsson (b. 1968) lives and works in Stockholm. She is educated at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (1991–1997).
