Helene Billgren och Stina Siljing. På ytan två olika konstnärer. Eller?
Båda har med verk Familjen – på gott och ont. Den 10 september kommer de till Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum för att tala om sin konst. Samtalet leds av Magnus af Petersens som tillsammans med Daragana Maksimovic Kusoffsky kuraterat utställning.
Helene Billgren med sina unga kvinnor eller flickor, ofta framställda med humor. Stina Siljings konst som präglas av såret efter sin sons alltför tidiga död.
Båda utgår på olika sätt från familjen. Hur det präglar en och hur det formar konsten. Smärtan efter ett förlorat ett barn etsar sig fast i Stina Siljings konst. Helene Billgren framställer sina unga flickors liv med humor – men där anas också en svärta och sårbarhet.
Bland verken i utställningen finns Helene Billgrens Barnvagn ute (2019) och Familjen Billgren/Kungafamiljen (1991) samt Stina Siljings Jag räknar till 27 (2022).

The Family in Different Ways
Helene Billgren and Stina Siljing. On the surface, two very different artists. Or are they?
Both are contributing works to the exhibition ”The Family – For Better or Worse”. On 10 September, they will be visiting the Sven-Harry Konstmuseum to talk about their art. The discussion will be led by Magnus af Petersens, who, together with Daragana Maksimovic Kusoffsky, has curated the exhibition.
Helene Billgren and her young women or girls, often depicted with humour. Stina Siljing’s art, which is marked by the pain of her son’s premature death.
Both artists draw on their family backgrounds in different ways: how it shapes them as individuals and how it influences their art. The pain of losing a child is etched into Stina Siljing’s art. Helene Billgren depicts the lives of her young girls with humour – yet there is also a hint of darkness and vulnerability.
Among the works in the exhibition are Helene Billgren’s Barnvagn ute (2019) and Familjen Billgren/Kungafamiljen (1991), as well as Stina Siljing’s Jag räknar till 27 (2022).
