Biography

Idun Baltzersen was born in 1987 in Trondheim, Norway. She was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen and Konstfack University of Arts in Stockholm. Since graduating in 2014, she has lived and worked in Stockholm. In recent years, she has had numerous exhibitions at galleries and institutions, particularly in Sweden and Norway. In 2014, she was awarded the Anna-Lisa Thomson Grant, which included an exhibition at Uppsala Art Museum, Sweden. The following year, she received the Fredrik Roos Grant and had an exhibition at Moderna Museet in Malmö, Sweden. In 2016, she was honored with the Bernadotte Grant from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, which provided a studio and exhibition space within the academy's building. Her work is included in the collections of several institutions, such as Moderna Museet, Sweden; Magasin III Museum for Contemporary Art, Stockholm; Gothenburg Museum of Art, Sweden, Uppsala Art Museum, Sweden, Haugesund Billedgalleri, Norway and Västerås Art Museum, Sweden. During 2023 she lived and worked in Paris through a grant from Cité Internationale des arts. Her most recent exhibition with Galleri Magnus Karlsson was the critically acclaimed The Bathers in 2023.
